SPORTS PERFORMANCE COACH INTERNSHIP
A sports performance coach internship at PRECISION provides the opportunity to gain experience and mentorship in the PRECISION philosophy while developing practical coaching competency through hands-on learning in the areas of elasticity, agility, speed, impulse, strength, energy systems development, recovery, movement screening, mobility assessments, physiology, biomechanics, statistics, and other related aspects of program implementation. Further benefits of the internship program include the opportunity to coach athletes of different ages, levels, sports, goals, as well as an enhanced ability to translate sport science research into practical training solutions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the design and implementation of athlete programs
- Assist with monitoring of athlete sessions
- Assist with the day to day operations of Precision Sport Science
- Be eager to learn and accepting of constructive criticism
- Be comfortable interacting with athletes, parents, etc.
- Present yourself in a manner that will reinforce your status as a role model for impressionable young athletes
Successful completion of the Sports Performance Coach Internship program has helped many interns in their pursuits of sport science, data science, post graduate work, and coaching goals. Minimum requirements for internship program include:
- Experience as a former college or high school athlete
- Ability to dedicate 50 hours of UNPAID work a week (including Saturdays) for the entirety of the internship period.
- Inclusion of a brief private YouTube video (approx. 3 min) explaining why you want to intern at Precision Sport Science.
- Ability to fully complete the application form below.
ANNUAL INTERNSHIP SCHEDULE
Fall: September – December (1-2 Positions) – Application Deadline: 8/1
Spring: January – May (1-2 Positions) – Application Deadline: 12/1
Summer: June – August (1-2 Positions) – Application Deadline: 5/1
